Today, we are living in a very fast paced world. Everything is instant! Instant noodles, fastfood chains and so on that we compromised our health just to cope up with the demands at work or in our homes, we are stressed!

So, what is stress? What is Health and Stress Management? Dr. Hans Selye was one of the researcher of stress in early thirties. He defines stress as, “The non-specific response of the body to any demands made upon it.” It goes to say that our body really reacts with stress in various ways. There are people who react to stress positively and some had a negative reaction.

Positive reaction to stress can lead to increase self-esteem because of increase concentration to work or studies leading to successful projects.

But it has been long known also that there are people who suffer from heart attack, strokes, vascular diseases, diabetes, sleep disturbances, substance abuse, memory, learnings, concentrations disabilities. And even sexual and reproductive dysfunction due to stress.

Various studies about health and stress management comes in then. So what is health and stress management?

Health and stress management comes in when we do our best to take care of our self by leaving healthy lifestyles. Like eating healthy foods, avoiding drinking too much alcohol, avoiding tobacco, visiting our doctors and managing stressful situations that can affect us negatively.

Some expert say that we can handle it by identifying what causes our stress and avoiding that situation. Health and stress management 101 can also be done by making a list of To do’s, Eating our special stress reliever food, Going to the gym, Dancing, Doing Relaxation Techniques, Imagination, Playing with our Pets, Playing Instruments, Going shopping with friends, Going to the Movies, Going Vacation etc. etc..

Most of all Take Time to be with yourself… Enjoy! And Have a Happy Stress Free Life!
