SAN FRANCISCO – Filipino nurses joined a protest in front of the headquarters of one of the biggest health insurance providers in the country.
Their message: stop raising rates, especially when people can barely afford health care.
Members of the California Nurses Association held a picket in front of Blue Shield’s San Francisco office, protesting the company’s plan to spike health care coverage rates up to 59% for individuals.
They said out of all the major insurers, Blue Shield is the only one that refuses to delay premium increases.
