Most people opt to work in Saudi Arabia or in the Middle East as a Nurse because they can save a lot of money when they choose to stay there. Why? Because there are no taxes being deducted in their pay cheques, no insurance bill, no telephone line rental bill, neither hydro bill nor rent paid each month for the house etc., plus a lot of opportunities awaits the nurses who will be hired to work in the Middle East.

It is not also true that, you have to cover from your head to your toe or not being allowed to leave the place you are staying nor go shopping alone and need to be escorted. Some might also mislead you that Staff Nurses are making $US 50,000 p.a., in the Middle East/Saudi Arabia that is not really true.
The truth is staff nurse is between $ 23,000 and $ 33,000 range (US) p.a. paid in local currency (One US Dollar equal 3.75 Saudi Riyals) and it really varies from place to place or depending on your work condition. There is also no restriction on whatever you want to do- be it you want to go shopping or strolling the town. Lastly, there is no American or Canadian hospital in Saudi Arabia.
To work in the MiddleEast/Saudi Arabia, they usually require a minimum of two year experience and pass your English Proficiency Test. Communication is very important in dealing with your clients and it is the working language in the hospital. The minimum contract for working is one year but you can also signed a two years contract and most of the hospitals will have a 45- 54 days leave in one year but then you need to complete first your 90 day probationary period. Working hours is 22 shifts in a six week period, total of 44 hours per week.
Nurses are given single contract however, the family can also get a visa for 90 days but all expenses should be shouldered by the nurse.
