it is not the circulating nurses duty to check for urine output and blood loss during a surgery. it is the anesthesiologist!

when the surgery is on going its not the circulating nurse will coordinate with the family outside..come to think that the surgery is on going,circulating nurse must stay inside to attend the needs of the team,,its the Nurse Supervisor!!!!! some answers are not accurate..b careful.u need to refer it with the book or any other reliable sources..

I think,.. it's really the CN,.. why?.. same with anesthesiologist,. she is unsterile,.. and the anesthesiologist is the one responsible for ensuring that the patient is in good condition under anesthesia,.. you're right that CN is the one who attends the needs of the surgery but also she is the one responsible in updating the patient's condition to the family,..
