The National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX) will begin testing in Manila on August 23, 2007, at the International Pearson Professional Center, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has reported in its website.
In February this year, the board of directors of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) in the US chose Manila as a site for NCLEX testing because of the “deep commitment" shown by the Philippine government in ensuring a secure testing center.
Scheduling for examination appointments began on July 13, 2007.
Filipino nurses who aspire to work in the US must pass the NCLEX to become registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.
Intended for the purposes of domestic nurse licensure in states and territories of the US, all security policies and procedures used to administer the NCLEX will be fully implemented at the Manila site.
